My new home in Israel

Wilderness of Zin
This is the housing complex I live in. My house is behind the tree in the middle of the photo
My house. It's one of 4 in a complex. But this segment is mine. It's two floors, with a balcony on the right.
My balcony
The second floor of my house. Yup, the whole thing. Having it separate does create an illusion of space
These are the very VERY steep stairs that go up to my bedroom. I’ve been careful, but I know I am going to fall down them one morning, as I try to both wake up and go downstairs at the same time.
In fact, the closest I’ve come to falling down the stairs was while taking this picture of my office. The office is essentially the landing on the stairs between the first and second floor.
Another view of my office from a safer height.
Here's where I will be heading the morning I fall down the stairs. I'm still getting used to the entire floor getting wet when the shower is on (even though there is a curtain). The difference in depth between the "shower floor" and the floor of the rest of the bathroom is less than 1 cm. It would help if the drain was the lowest point on the floor….... But it's not.
The Kitchen. Or the corner with the sink where I store the hotplate. I have a nice brand new fridge. And one day I might have a toaster oven (!).
The dining room. Notice how different areas of the same room can become different rooms if you cluster the furniture? Yet another illusion of space
The living room. See the dining room in the corner (it's all about clustering the furniture). The switch above the table is for the hot water heater--it took me two days to figure that out. The other switch in my house with a light on it (beside the bathroom) was not, as one might think, the water heater but, apparently, is for nothing
Me in my living room. I know Explore was probably not referring to me with their headline but it sure feels like it. Did I mention how HOT it is here? Whew!
