Football with the Armenians

I've been playing football with the students here on the weekends. We play on the tennis courts in the midreshet--it used to be an afternoon game, but we keep pushing it later and later or else we would completely melt in the heat.

Of course it's not just the Armenians and I that play.

But they're the constants there--we usually say if the Armenian community is not there, there's no point in holding the game. For a while every week it would be me, the Armenians, and a few other people who decided to show up.

A few weeks ago we decided that since I was leaving we were going to have to get some new recruits so that the games didn't die (3 is just too few for a game). The last couple weeks we've had over 10 people show up! (It's a lot for football here).

Here's me and the Armenian community (they do have names--Edgar, Soren and Gor--but we generally refer to them collectively, and sometimes they do as well). This week is my last week playing football on the campus. I've told everyone they have to keep it going until next year--I'm expecting to play on my first Saturday back.
